Sharon Brightwell
Sharon BrightwellIMPACT Music Makers Leader
Sharon has attended Dover for over 30 years and has served in Children’s Ministry for over 15 years, teaching kids 1st-5th grade. She currently directs our Music Makers music class of 2nd & 3rd graders.

She taught elementary music classes in both Christian and public school settings. She is passionate about teaching kids how to praise the Lord in worship through classroom training and music appreciation.

Her favorite part of serving in Children’s Ministry is the relationships she builds with students and seeing them get excited about singing and learning more about music.

Her favorite Bible story growing up was Noah and the ark but as an adult her favorite is the prodigal son. Her go to verse is Proverbs 3:5-6 and her favorite age to work with is 2nd-5th grade.

Christi GarringerIMPACT Music Makers Teacher
Christi has attended Dover since 2019. She has previously taught infants through elementary age kids at her previous churches.
She currently teachers Music Makers 2nd & 3rd grade IMPACT. She likes helping the kids learn and teaching them kindness. She says children’s ministry is fun and exciting.

She describes herself as kind and teats others how she wants to be treated. She is a retired LPN nurse and has 2 grandsons and 3 children of her own with her husband of 34 years. She’s always like working with children because they are very honest.

Her favorite Bible verse is 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is anew creature; old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new.

Dawnye'l MauckIMPACT Young Musicians Leader
Dawnye’l has been a member of Dover First Baptist Church since February 1999.and has served in the children’s ministry for 7 years teaching 2nd/ 3rd IMPACT choir and 4th/ 5th grade IMPACT choir and Team Kids/ Super Summer during the summer months. She is currently teaching IMPACT 4th and 5th grades.

Her favorite part of serving in the children’s ministry is watching the children grow and mature in their walk with the Lord. There is nothing which brings me more joy than to see one of the children walk forward to make their profession of faith and be baptized.

She encourages others to get involved in children’s ministry because they are the future of the church, and it is our responsibility and mission to help raise them up to love and serve the Lord. It is rewarding and you will be blessed. “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” (Matt. 19:14).

In addition to IMPACT, she also serves in the Faith Riders Ministry and the Christian Arts Department. She sings, plays the trumpet and some piano. She also serves in the deaf ministry at my former church as an interpreter.

Her favorite Bible verses are Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me;” and 2 Peter 3:9, “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
My favorite Bible story is the story of Jonah. Jonah’s story teaches us about the consequences of disobedience, repentance of sin and God’s forgiveness.
